It’s almost been a year since the COVID19 came into the world. An event that changed everyone’s plans, forced us to take a forced break, adapt new routines, use masks and maintain certain daily habits to which we were not accustomed. We are starting a new year and although there is new hope with vaccines, it is necessary to continue maintaining certain safety measures to avoid the spread of COVID19. For this 2021, it is important not to let your guard down, since in addition to the respiratory problems generated by the coronavirus, it can leave other havoc on the body. As we have seen, a person who gives COVID19 may only have colds while others reach the point of having complications and losing their lives, so taking measures to avoid getting infected and protect our families and friends is a responsibility that corresponds to all of us. Although you already know many of the safety measures and tips to avoid the spread of COVID19 we remind you of some basics that will be of great help for this new year 2021.

    1. Avoid crowded events and large gatherings.

Meetings We know that it is often desperate not to go out and see acquaintances, go to share in a bar or have lunch in a good restaurant. In times of COVID, it is recommended to avoid the well-known 3 “Cs”: spaces that are wrong, congestedor that we have closecontacts. This way you will avoid contracting the virus since outbreaks have been reported in restaurants, gyms, nightclubs, offices and spaces where people have gathered, often in crowded enclosed spaces where many people tend to congregate. The risks of infection with the COVID-19 virus are highest in crowded and insufficiently ventilated spaces where infected people spend a lot of time together and in close proximity to each other. In these environments, the virus appears to spread more easily through droplets, respiratory fomites or aerosols, making it even more important to take precautions. It is better to opt for open terraces, parks or outdoor spaces where there is not much convergence of people. And always remember to maintain the appropriate distance and use all the essential elements to avoid contagion.

    2. Keep your hands clean

I Will Wash My Hands Wash your hands regularly and carefully with an alcohol gel or soap and water. This kills germs that may be on your hands, including viruses. Every time you arrive at a new place or even every so often remember to take a break, take out your alcohol gel and clean your hands. You should do this especially when you get home or when you eat some type of food. Also remember that when coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or a tissue. Then, immediately throw the tissue in a trash can with a lid and wash your hands again. With these good ‘respiratory hygiene’ practices you protect the people around you against viruses that cause colds, flu and especially the COVID-19 virus.

    3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth if your hands are not there. Clean

Touching Their Eyes The hands touch many surfaces where they could catch the virus. Once contaminated, they can carry the virus to the eyes, nose, or mouth. From there, the virus can enter the body and infect it. We recommend that during those periods when you are away from home, in common spaces you avoid putting your hands on your face. No matter how insignificant it may be, with a carelessness of this we can contract the virus. The use of protective glasses, masks, face shield and an antibacterial gel in the bag are the best allies for these moments.

    4. Go outside only if you have to

Shopping In Covid This point is what is most difficult for us and of course, if being locked up in four walls becomes super boring. However, this is the most important practice to avoid contagion. We know that it is impossible to spend 100% of the time inside the house, since there are duties and tasks that we have to do out of obligation outside the home that need us to go outside, which is why we recommend that these occasions of outings are the strict and necessary. If you have to work, go shopping at the supermarket, the pharmacy or do some urgent errand, you should clearly do it, however, there are some activities that for the moment we should avoid if we do not want to get infected. We are sure that the right time will come to enjoy these pleasures again.

    5. Clean and disinfect surfaces

Disinfect Surfaces We should frequently clean and disinfect surfaces, particularly those that are touched regularly, for example, doorknobs, taps and mobile phone screens. Use disposable gloves to clean and disinfect and discard them after use, or use reusable gloves that are for exclusive use for cleaning and disinfecting. We recommend that those surfaces that are most used are cleaned daily and also that you perform deep cleaning of the entire home at least once a month. This way you will ensure not only that your house is perfectly clean but also to eliminate any bacteria or viruses that you may have brought from the street. You may have heard these tips many times, but you need to remember them. It is always better to be safe than sorry and that despite the fact that our surroundings begin to lower their guard, we being responsible continue to comply with all the necessary measures until we can combat the spread of this virus that has been stalking us since 2020.
