Shoulder bursitis

Bursae are small synovial sacs that surround joints, providing protection and cushioning to the muscles, tendons, and bones of the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Bursitis occurs when the joint is exposed to excessive, constant, or repetitive movements too frequently.

Although it is an injury with an easy initial treatment, it is necessary for the patient to take the respective rest time to achieve complete recovery. Likewise, it is advisable to avoid new traumas in the area.

Shoulder tendinitis

Tendons are connective tissues that help attach muscles to bones. When these tendons are strained or overloaded due to repetitive movements over a long period, tendinitis can occur.

Tendinitis is a condition that is entirely curable, but if not treated correctly, there is a high probability of complications and a risk of tendon rupture. When the shoulder tendons tear, the chances of the patient needing surgery for repair increase.

Shoulder fracture

Shoulder fractures generally occur at the upper end of the humerus. Some of these fractures can be treated with an arm sling; however, more severe fractures may require surgical treatment.

The complexity of the fracture is assessed through an X-ray, and these results will determine the most suitable procedure for the patient.

Shoulder dislocation

Dislocation occurs when the humeral head suffers traumatic injuries that cause it to come out of its socket. The pain associated with a dislocation is very severe and requires immediate attention.

Dislocations have various types that vary according to their origin and the conditions present in the patient (complete dislocation, open, closed, recurrent, subluxation, among others).
