Physical therapy is a branch of health science that uses physical agents to restore function once it has been lost or prevent it from being lost. Simply put, it’s everything we can do to improve our health by physical means; manual therapy, exercise, movement or minimally invasive techniques. Physiotherapy is developed through exercises for therapeutic purposes. For example, the application of cold or heat in affected areas, water rehabilitation, orthopedic massages, etc.

In order to perform physiotherapy, it is important to make a prior diagnosis, by an orthopaedic specialist. This may be based on radiographic, electrical, or manual tests to measure the extent of the injury, muscle-skeletal strength, and mobility. Each test allows accurate data to be obtained on the capacities, functionality and range of motion of the joints. With this information, the physio will help us to regain mobility or relieve pain of various origins.

The instrument par excellence of every good physiotherapist is their hands, which together with their knowledge of the human body allows them to apply the appropriate techniques according to the needs of each patient. For a good physiotherapy treatment, the specialist focuses on 3 fundamental pillars: protect, correct and strengthen.

We know that our bodies need movement to stay healthy. With physiotherapy we are going to work on all those movements that the body for one reason or another has stopped doing or has limited them.

Before we can move properly, we need pain-free and constraint-free joints to move on and then build a good movement pattern.

Por Que Es Importante La Fisioterapia

It is important to remember that physiotherapy is not only useful for people who suffer from physical disabilities or muscle pain. It is also a highly recommended option for the prevention of pain, especially in sports patients with forced labor, even for healthy people who seek to prevent degenerative diseases.

One of the most popular specialties in physiotherapy is traumatology or Orthopedics, related to the musculoskeletal system. Traumatology is the medical specialty that focuses on the analysis, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of ailments acquired by the musculoskeletal system

    Why is physiotherapy important?

Physiotherapy comprehensively treats all pathologies that affect various systems and systems of our body, but especially the musculoskeletal system, restoring them to function partially or totally, caused by surgery or disease. Just as the surgeon repairs the damaged structure, the physiotherapist restores function through the most advanced techniques and/or specialties.
